Introduction to Econometric course is intended for policy makers, researchers, students of applied economics and institution who intend to begin their career of using Econometric modeling for research and policy guidance. The course focuses on the use of published econometric theory by putting it in practice on applied country specific data. However, it is plausible for prospectus participants to have hard exposure to the theory of econometrics like classical assumptions and more. The course is based on time series analysis.     • Introduction to Eview software
    • Applied econometrics in Eviews software and code languages
    • Data cleaning for applied econometric modeling
    • Importing time-series data to Eviews software
    • Stationarity tests and corrections in Eviews
    • Step-by-step construction of Econometric equations
    • Estimation of equations and residual tests
    • Building a small macro-economic model in Eviews
    • Designing policy scenarios in Eviews and policy
    • simulations
    • Generating forecasts in Eviews
    • Interpretation of results and reporting formats

Mode of delivery
The training is arranged to follow hands-on approach and thus requires that participants attend all the training sessions. Participants will work in groups and shall be expected to make a presentation of their simulations results on the last day of the training workshop. Each participant is expected to come with his/her own individual laptop and mouse.
