Advanced SUT/SAM Multiplier Modeling and Analysis

Objective of the course

The advanced course on SUT/SAM multiplier modeling is an extension of the Input-Output and Supply and Use (I-O/SUT) Multiplier modeling course. The data used is the Supply and Use Tables (SUT) and the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM). This course introduces advanced skills in SUT/SAM modeling and also introduces labor market analysis. This course exposes participants the economic blocks used in developing SUTs and SAMs and how an additive method of decomposing the SUT/SAM multipliers is used to trace the sources of economic growth using SAMs of two countries. The course discusses the theoretical formulation of multiplier models and their applications on Input-Output (I-O) Tables and Supply and Use Tables (SUT). In this course large/extended SUT and SAM are used. The course is designed for policy analysts and researchers in government, statistic houses, central banks, academia and international organisations engaged in policy guidance. It is plausible for prospectus participants to have completed the introduction course in I-O/SUT Multiplier analysis or to have had extensive exposure to matrix analysis or national accounts. Mode of delivery
The advanced course on SUT/SAM multiplier modeling is an intensive prograame delivered through hands-on group exercises. It is mandatory for all participants to attend all the sessions organized for this programme. Participants are expected to make a presentation of their policy simulation results on the last day of the training workshop. Each participant is expected to come with his/her own individual laptop and mouse.
