Introduction to Advanced Econometric Modeling and Forecasting in Eviews

Objective of the course

Introduction to Econometric course is intended for policy makers, researchers, analysts and students of applied economics and institution who intend to begin their career in Econometric modeling. The course is aimed at equipping participants with skills in econometric modeling using time series data. The course focusses on the application of published econometrics theory to country based data. The prospectus participants should have had minimal training in econometrics. The course is based on time series analysis. The details of the course, include;

  • Theoretical advanced time series analysis
  • Advanced Eviews techniques
  • Data cleaning for applied econometric modeling
  • Generating consistency frameworks from the macroeconomic data-sets
  • Importing large time-series data to Eviews
  • Stationarity tests and corrections in Eviews
  • Advanced step-by-step construction of Econometric equations
  • Estimation of equations and their inclusion in the model blocks
  • Designing policy scenarios in Eviews and policy simulations
  • Advanced skills in generating forecasts in Eviews
  • Interpretation of results and reporting formats

Mode of delivery
The advanced training in economic modeling and forecasting delivered through a hands-on approach and thus requires that participants attend all the training sessions. Participants will work in groups and shall be expected to make a presentation of their simulations results on the last day of the training workshop. For the online option, each participant is expected to submit answers to assignments on time to allow the course end within the specified period as extension could come with facilitation costs. Click here to apply or email application on apply@macrosolve.net or macrosolveinfo@gmail.com
